Amcor Air Purifier: Controlling The Air We Breathe

Where do you spend your day? Don¡¯t think about it too long. Where did you spend lunch? How about your break? Yeah, me too. What did you do when you got home? Same thing, huh? You didn¡¯t get out and play in the park, you didn¡¯t take a hike. Heck, you were probably happy just to get home and you¡¯re your feet up. Yes, I was being funny about that last part. The truth is though that we spend most of our time indoors. We really don¡¯t need some expensive study, though there are plenty, to tell us that 90 percent of our time is spent indoors. What¡¯s more, people are starting to realize the importance of having the air they breathe inside be healthier and are looking for options for cleaning that air. Many air purifiers can be very expensive, and this may be the reason anyone on a budget is hesitant to purchase one. With prices ranging from $30 to $90, Amcor air purifiers are affordable options for anyone who wants cleaner air to breathe without spending a fortune.

When you go home and open your door and smell your house, you realize why you need an air particle cleaner and one that neutralizes the air in your home. I¡¯ll be the first one to admit it. I¡¯m a clean freak, yet my house never seemed to smell quite right to me. Funny enough, we have a ceiling fan by Hunters in every room of our house, but it never occurred to me that I have to do more than simply move the air around. Ionizers help freshen the air and remove some of the smaller particles. They also release small amounts of ozone, which helps in combating odors such as cooking, smoke and pet odors.  There are some popular Amcor Air Purifiers that are available on the market today, but they usually come with a letter designation ¨C AM ¨C and then a number, like 40 or 130, which signifies size and features.

Obviously, a unit with a lower number, like the AM-40, is going to be cheaper than the others. Like the others though, it does provide some of the nicer features, like a washable filter and something that helps scent your house. It¡¯s pretty small, so it won¡¯t take care of an entire house, but it would certainly make my office smell better and less like nasty carpet. For my house, however, I don¡¯t just want to pretty up the air; I really want to clean the air, which is where ionizers come in. I do recall reading a consumer reports thing about some sort of ionic breeze, but I also thought it was a little sketchy, since it didn¡¯t really expand on size, nor make mention of the fact that the square footage of the room one is trying to impact is fairly relevant as well.

Generally speaking, the higher the number, the smaller the particulates it is able to filter. The AM-60 is the next-cheapest air purifier, which also has a Hepa-type and electrostatic filtration system with washable filters. The filtering system in this unit must be cleaned frequently; otherwise it will quickly become ineffective. This unit is suitable for medium-sized bedrooms and even dining rooms. The best thing about both the AM-40 and the AM-60 is that their filters can be washed, meaning that they do not require replacement filters, making them both very cost-effective.

The AM-80 is a more expensive Amcor air purifier. This is because it features true HEPA filters. True HEPA filters are the only filters capable of removing 99.97% of both very small particles (as small as 0.3 microns) and larger particles from the air. Many people regard true HEPA filters as being the absolute best filter options for removing everything from dust, pollen, animal dander and anything in between, things that really impact people with bad allergies or even asthma. Unlike the cheaper models, though, the AM-80 also features activated carbon filters that help with filtering gases and many different types of odors, making it ideal for people who own indoor pets, cook spicy foods, or have areas with heavy smoke concentration.

Now that I have a better idea of what¡¯s generally available out there, I will next be looking at the possibility of investing a single unit portable air conditioner for my bedroom. I love living in Arizona, except during the monsoons, when our swamp cooler is rendered completely useless. I know these units are generally more expensive than the air purifiers, but I like the idea that I can dehumidify my bedroom before bed and do so without breaking our entire budget. Now, though, with my Amcor Air Purifier, at least I like what my room smells like.
